Motocross tire pressure is not a single universal number. Tire construction, tube/insert system, rim, rider, surface and manufacturer limits all matter. This tool does not recommend PSI; it helps document the size of a change you already intend to test.

A one-PSI adjustment can be a meaningful percentage at motocross pressures. Quantifying it helps riders avoid treating 11 to 10 psi as “basically the same” while making much smaller clicker changes elsewhere.

How to use this tool

Enter current and proposed front/rear pressure. The result shows the absolute and percentage change for each tire. Add the track condition to your setup log before riding so the pressure test has context.

Use the same reliable gauge before and after the change. Comparing numbers from two gauges can create a false setup conclusion if the gauges do not agree.

Worked example

A front change from 13.0 to 12.0 psi is a 1.0 psi reduction, about 7.7%. A rear change from 13.0 to 12.5 psi is about 3.8%. Those are materially different test sizes even though both sound like small adjustments.

Using it at the track

Use it alongside the bike setup log: pressure, surface, tire model, rider feedback and any puncture/rim issue belong in the same note.

If a pressure change appears to solve every handling problem, repeat the test on another session before treating it as proven. Track grooming and moisture can change at the same time.

Before using the result

Limit: The calculator does not determine safe pressure for a tire system or predict traction.
