Motocross Bike Setup Log
Save tire pressure, sag, clickers, gearing and track-condition notes locally on your device.
Good setup work depends on records. If you remember only that the bike “felt better last time,” you do not know whether the difference came from tire pressure, clickers, gearing, track moisture or simply a fresher tire.
This log stores entries in your browser with no account. Use one entry per meaningful setup/condition combination and include enough notes to understand the result months later.
How to use this tool
Create one entry for each meaningful track/condition combination. Record tire pressures, rider sag, gearing and clicker positions before changing anything, then describe what the motorcycle actually did on track.
Use specific notes: “front pushes in flat left turns” is more useful later than “front bad.” When you return to the same facility in similar conditions, compare the old entry before starting from memory.
Worked example
An entry might record 13.0 psi front, 13.5 rear, 105 mm rider sag and 13/50 gearing at Bostwick, then note that the rear tracked well in braking bumps but the front pushed in flat corners. The next change can then be isolated and compared.
Using it at the track
A useful setup log separates motorcycle settings from track observations. Numbers such as PSI, sag, gearing and clickers are the settings; statements about pushing, kicking, traction or gear choice are observations. Keeping both lets you see whether a later change solved the same problem under similar conditions.
Do not compare entries blindly when tires, springs, suspension service, rider weight or major chassis parts have changed. Mark those changes in the notes so an old “good” setup is not mistaken for a direct baseline on a mechanically different bike.
Before using the result
- Record clickers from a consistent reference such as fully seated/out, according to your suspension provider’s method.
- Never force adjusters against their stops.
- Suspension changes affect handling and safety; stay within manufacturer/tuner guidance.
Limit: Saved setups live only in the current browser/device and are not a substitute for service-manual limits or professional suspension diagnosis.
