Central Florida Motocross & Riding Areas

Central Florida mixes conventional motocross with large off-road riding areas. Choose carefully: a state-managed OHV system such as Croom operates very differently from a private practice/race track such as Dade City or Orlando MX Park.

Central Florida is the easiest region to confuse because traditional motocross tracks sit in the same broad area as OHV destinations. Croom Motorcycle Area is managed as a state-forest off-highway riding system, while facilities such as Dade City, Orlando MX Park and Bartow operate on private-track schedules. Plan permits, waivers and gear around the type of property you are actually visiting.

Traffic around Orlando/Tampa corridors and summer storm timing can materially reduce useful riding hours. A shorter tow to a confirmed open facility can produce more seat time than a longer trip to a track whose schedule is uncertain.

Croom Motorcycle Area
OHV Area • Trails • Technical riding

Croom Motorcycle Area is a Florida Forest Service OHV area within Withlacoochee State Forest. It is a large trail and off-road riding destination, not simply a motocross track, and it has different permits, vehicle rules and operating procedures than a private MX facility.

ActiveOcala
Hardrock Offroad Park
Off-road park • 4x4/SxS • Dirt bike access varies

Hardrock in Ocala is better treated as a mixed off-road park than a conventional motocross-only facility. Current public information emphasizes 4x4/SxS use, while dirt-bike access has varied by announcement and area.

Bone Yard Motocross at Bone Valley ATV Park
Motocross • County park • OHV

The Bone Yard is a newer motocross track inside Polk County’s Bone Valley ATV Park. Polk County describes it as Central Florida’s county-operated motocross track and currently limits MX availability to scheduled riding days while operations are fine-tuned.

Planning a regional trip

Do not build a multi-track weekend from old directory hours. Open each facility page, follow its current source, and confirm operating dates immediately before travel. Event-only and training-only properties are labeled so you do not mistake them for ordinary public practice tracks.
